Five Bowls Of Ramen I Consumed In Japan (Waxing and Waning Ramen)
$200.00 - $2,000.00
One of Brett's favorite meals is a big fat bowl of dashi broth ramen. When in Japan at the end of the year in 2019, Brett started a conceptual project where he intended to eat enough ramen to fill up all 36 frames on a roll of 35mm film. He only managed to get about 10-12 bowls or frames completed till he realized there was a lot of other food in Japan he also wanted to eat, like tonkatsu pork and Onigiri from the 7-11.
6 continuous frames of 35mm color film, drum scanned, 2019.
Because of the "panoramic" nature of this image, the prints are wide and short! We don't offer a 10 inch size because it hardly measures out at 2 inches tall. To make up for this we offer this image in TWO OTHER MURAL SIZE EDITIONS, 87 inches (7.25 feet!) by 16 inches and 130 inches (10.8 feet!) by 24 inches. We've printed several at these sizes and it looks amazing! Because this is 5 frames of 35mm film, and because it is drum scanned, there's lots of resolution, in a lot of ways it actually looks better bigger because you can see a lot more of the detail that gets lost in a smaller print.
As usual, sizes listed are approximate and refer to paper size, actual image size is a little less to accommodate a 1/2 inch border on all sides.
